It all began in 1991. After studying photography in Israel and in London I decided to follow my dreams and open a small studio. I was looking for a place where I would find inspiration and in doing so find an outlet for my artistic endeavors. In this tiny cabin amidst the citrus groves of Moshav Ganei Yehuda I finally found my place.

During my work in a variety of areas in photography I discovered the interesting possibilities in photographing families. Taking pictures of people during their important milestones and family celebrations I discovered the power of documentary photography, in which the icons of the era are contained in time and location.

This new avenue gave me the ability to watch and focus on the small moments of life and combine them into a complete picture. The finished work would serve as a "memento" reflecting the stories of peoples' lives: The local general store, the family's first rented apartment, the view out the living room window, an old bicycle or a newspaper headline. In this hurried world of ours these things pass before our eyes without us giving them a second thought. Stopping for a moment to observe and document them through the camera lens provides a treasure whose value will only increase in time. Thus we will be able to open the photo album and show generations to come the way things were... this is how we dressed; these were our cars, the signs, the advertisements, etc. This was our reality then.

Over time a tradition of photographing family ceremonies developed. I consider this a rare opportunity to enter people's lives and homes. I wish to create for them a pictorial narrative of the events of the ceremony while revealing in the background the characteristics of the place and the icons of the era.

Over the years I have photographed hundreds of projects both in business as well as the private sectors of life, these include:

  • Numerous and varied family events in Israel and around the world (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Florence, Milan, Monaco, New York and more).
  • Projects of all religious faiths and ceremonies.
  • Pregnancy photography.
  • Documentary of the lives of families.
  • Various image and "the life of" projects for industry.

Today the studio is located on Moshav Kefar Hess, situated between an ancient berry tree and a field of Rotem(Broom bushes) - a magical place full of inspiration.
